“A creative dyeing service like no other in Australia”
The Story
This beautiful fine mesh, heavily embossed evening gown had lost it's charm after several outings. Changing the colour to a powerful red gave it a new look, and the sequins remained black after dyeing.
Fibre/Fabric: dress-nylon mesh, slip-polyester
Original colour: white
Dye colour: jasper red

Custom dyeing

when COLOUR takes priority!

individual dyeing

Some complex and treasured articles require their own space and time to achieve the desired result—a combination of the colour you want and regard for the article’s fabic and design. Even with the utmost care, results may not be completely as expected due to a number of fabric issues that are either difficult to detect or invisible. We can always dye the item a second time to attempt to improve the result.

colour matching

For best result when colour matching, choose a base white, single fibre fabric such as silk, wool, polyester, viscose rayon or cotton. Talk to us about your ideas for fabrics and garments, preferably before purchasing them.

EACH ARTICLE IS PROCESSED INDIVIDUALLY

• COLOUR ACCURACY is best achieved when dye is weighed for each article. Several garments can be dyed together if made of the same fabric.

• DELICATE and vintage garments, also those with complex styles or fabric layers.

• SHEER (light weight) fabrics dye with more space to move.

• COLOUR MATCHING This process has several stages. 75% of the colour recipe is applied to the fabric. A small area is then dried and the colour is checked. Often, adjustments to the yellow, red and blue combination (recipe) are made to correct the tone. Dyes are then added slowly to arrive at the colour required. These steps can take time (generally 1 to 2 days) to achieve colour accuracy, hence the extra charge.
